I was afraid to post this over there.
I’m not talking about your garden-variety trolls who just enjoy making noise . . . I’m talking about these headcases who spout the most bizarre, delusional comments about politics, the election, the government, religion/atheism, or other related issues.
Do they actually believe that they are enlightening us with some sort of “ultimate truth” that we are unaware of, or are they fully aware of what nutjobs they are, and just enjoy being crazy?
I like to talk politics, but it’s difficult when I don’t know anything about the new health care reform. Everything I hear about it is from the news, or heated political debates that are just overflowing with misinformation, unconfirmed claims, and crazy scare tactics. All I want is to know exaclty what the changes will be without having to read a thousand pages of boring. Isn’t there such a thing as simplicity, without bias? or am I shooting too high?
Just about everyday I see typos in online news articles. Today this sentence was written about a missing boyscout: “Tina White said after officials first received word shortly before 11 a.m. that he Michael had been found.” HE MICHAEL? This was in an AP article on yahoo news. You don’t see these stupid mistakes as much in printed newspapers, so why so much online? Do they have a different editing process for online stuff? Is someone retyping and screwing up? Is everyone just getting sloppier?
