Are you one of the millions of people worldwide that suffers from a bad case of low self-confidence? Because of your low self confidence do you notice yourself not doing things you might find interesting?
How easy it would be if we could put on our self confidence as easily as putting on our clothes?
It would be nice to have a self confidence suit we could put on anytime we need it but till that happens here are several strategies you can begin using to improve your low self confidence.
These strategies are an exercise in self realization and will help you to begin your path of self empowerment. I also have learned the benefits of meditation and it has helped me in many ways.
1. Don’t be your own worst enemy
The outcome makes no difference, the best thing you can do for yourself is to be you own best friend.Why not go ahead and do something you never did before today. Do something you have always been afraid to do. At this point the outcome makes no difference, it just matters that you tried your best to overcome your apprehensions. Give yourself a pat on the back and tell yourself “Great Effort”. Well at the least you were able to try some new things!
Place you attention on your efforts and not on what all the possible outcomes might be. Don’t be so worried all the time everybody has limitations. The trick is to accept your limitations and not focus on them. We all have problems of our own.
2. Let go of your fear.
Why do you lack self-confidence and worry so much when you are put into certain situations that you don’t know what the outcome will be? Alter the way you view things. Fear is a killer, Look at these new things in your life as an opportunity to learn something. Let it open up the possibility for you to overcome your low self-confidence and excel at something.
Don’t waste your time worrying about what will happen, all you will do is ruin any chance you had of success.There is no possible way that you will ever be able to grow as a person and overcome your lack of confidence if you continue to be afraid. Stop setting yourself up for failure. Fear is a construct of our imagination.
3. Practice thought control.
Pay heed to the advice of your inner voice. We all use self talk. Be aware what you are thinking about and how you talk to yourself. As a negative thought comes to mind you must be strong and stop this destructive way of thinking. Your feelings of low self-confidence are a direct result of your negative thoughts. Replace these negative thoughts with some positive affirmations. Tell yourself that you are a confident and exceptional person. Most of our thoughts and ideas are only an illusion.
Our minds are programed by the assumptions we continually make.
Accept the reality that you are not going to be perfect and from what I can tell nobody else is either. Don’t be so hard on yourself and begin today by filling your mind with productive and self enhancing thoughts.
4. Don’t worry about what someone else thinks.
If you are always concerned about how someone else views you then you are defining yourself by what you think others think about you. You are taking away your personal power and increasing your low self-confidence.
Find out who the real you is. Take a deep look inside yourself and see that we are all basically the same. In our own way we are unique and worthy. You don’t have to live up to the ideals of someone else to help you feel good.
When you can get to this point you will begin to realize the abject futility of relying on someone else for your happiness and fulfillment. As you start to increase your unique sense of self you will begin to find it very empowering.
This is going to be a process and you must accept that your low self-confidence will not go away over night. The key is to take it one day at a time and don’t be afraid of failure.
Become a positive being and take back control of your life.
You are a beautiful and unique human being who has just as much right as anyone else to enjoy your life and experience the pleasures it has to offer.
Kick your low self-confidence to the curb once and for all. You can be free from all your self defeating behaviours and learn how to manifest all your desires.
